Behind the flourishing greenery, the vast variety of furniture, the tasteful decor, and the cosy carpets lies the soul of Wild Emporium - the passionate visionaries, Liezel and TC. Their journey began with a simple yet profound love for gardening, furniture, and the art of transforming spaces into havens of warmth and style. To them, every piece has a story to tell. From the lush greens that breathe life into your living room to the meticulously curated furniture that adds character to your dining space, each item is handpicked with care and a discerning eye for quality and affordability.
What truly sets it apart is Liezel and TC’s dedication to sharing their wisdom and passion with every customer who walks through the doors. They understand that finding the perfect piece for your home is not just about aesthetics; it's about creating a space that reflects your personality, your dreams, and your unique story.
Their unique story all began with a wild vision.
Liezel first came upon this space in 2019 when she was visiting the area with her sister, from the moment she walked in she could see the magic and potential that this space had.
“I knew that this place had huge potential for a lifestyle centre, an oasis of beauty, not just a place to shop but a place to bring people together and form a tight-knit community,” Liezel says with a smile.
This was to be her new project and she immediately dove in head first. Still working in the fruit export industry at the time she dedicated her weekends and holidays to what was then ‘Paarl Kwerkery’ – a wholesale nursery that had scraped by during the water restrictions of the province-wide drought. “There was no furniture, café or décor. Just open spaces and a lot of plants!” remarks Liezel. It only took her a few months to realize that this was more than just a project, this was her Wild dream and she swiftly took over the whole premises, welcoming TC to the team shortly after. “His expertise in irrigation was just what we needed at the time!” says Liezel, “and together we came up with the name Wild Emporium, a suitable fit for the wild dream we had embarked on. Since then his hands-on approach have helped us reach our goals in record timing."
They took a wild chance together and followed their wildest dreams. This is how it looked back then -
During COVID Liezel and TC moved onto the premises to ensure the plants were being watered regularly and to start work on some much-needed maintenance that would bring her dreams of a lifestyle center to life. It had become clear to her and TC that this was more than just a plant shop or nursery, it was an experience that people would come to love and visit regularly, a landmark destination in the beautiful Paarl Winelands. From here they have gone from strength to strength and welcomed many wonderful members to their team. A team that is always up for a challenge and works together to get achieve their goals and dreams.
